One Vision Dance Company Showcase

One Vision Dance Company is the official Level 3 BTEC Dance Company of Neath Port Talbot Group of Colleges (Neath Campus) and on Thursday 5th May at the Nidum Arts Centre, the student dancers will showcase original dance work choreographed by their lecturers.

This year’s performance will consist of a range of exciting dance pieces across a range of styles including tap, jazz and contemporary dance.  Craig Coombs, Course Coordinator and Subject Leader for Dance at the college commented that;

“This year’s showcase is extra special as it brings together the talents of all the dance lecturers as well as the students.  We have been working with the company all year to develop their technical and performance skills and following the huge success of The Nutcracker, this showcase promises to be exceptional.”

The work itself explores a range of themes none more relevant than the theme of ‘fame’.  The dancers have been researching and developing ideas connected to the modern day idea of fame and its many guises across popular culture, creating dance work that is both dynamic, exciting and topical.

Dance lecturer Elise Addiscott, the newest member of the flourishing dance team commented that;

“The dance students are working really hard and it is exciting to see how the work is coming together in preparation for the showcase.   There really is something for dance lovers everywhere in this show.”

Whether you are a regular at the theatre to watch dance or looking for a first time experience, this showcase promises to ignite your senses and expand your minds.  Miss it – miss out!
