One Vision Dance School
The dance students at NPTC Group of Colleges (Neath Campus) are launching the college’s first official community dance school whereby local dance enthusiasts aged 13-18 will be given the opportunity to take part in student led dance classes held every Saturday for the next four weeks.
One Vision Dance School will be held at the Nidum Arts Centre and has been organised by the Year 1 BTEC Dance students as part of their Community Challenge unit on the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate.
The school will be offering workshops in Contemporary Dance, Musical Theatre Jazz and Urban Street Dance styles in the hope of sharing dance skills and building new connections amongst young dancers in Neath Port Talbot.
Craig Coombs, Subject Leader for Dance at NPTC Group commented that;
This is an excellent example of community spirit. The dance students have organised an event that will bring local young dancers into the college and inspire more people to want to express themselves through dance. The unique selling point of this dance school is the range of dance on offer too.
The first school session is on Saturday 9th January and it will run for four weeks, concluding with a public performance of work at the Nidum Arts Centre at 1pm on Saturday 30th January.
